Man Critical After Struck In Hit, Run Crash In Bayonne: Prosecutor

A 25-year-old Bayonne man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said.

At 12:20 a.m., Bayonne police responded to Route 440 and 22nd Street and found the man with life-threatening injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene, Suarez said.

The man was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, Suarez said.

The incident remains under investigation, Suarez said. Anyone with information is asked to contact 201-915-1345 or leave an anonymous tip here.
